The memorial site has been undergoing redevelopment work since 2021 and most of the shacks are still in a state of disrepair. Sin. Open only on Saturdays and Sundays but not in the summer period. For guided tours it is necessary to book.
Free guided tour on the occasion of Remembrance Day. It was very interesting and touching, a very knowledgeable guide. Really worth a visit, everyone should see and know about this transit camp, one of the most important in Italy. After having been to Auschwitz and Birkenau I couldn't miss it. We must not forget

The place can be partially visited as it is undergoing safety works after the earthquake in Emilia.
However, I still recommend it as a journey into the historical memory of our country if you want to listen.
Disappointing experience... Basically there is work going on to restore the place... Barriers everywhere for safety reasons and as a result you see a tenth of what you could see. I understand the problem of unsafe buildings but it would have been sufficient to prohibit access by cordoning off only them and leaving the perimeter free to walk around. I hope that once they finish the work the situation will be better.
